Meridian Arts and Sciences
(Updated July 11, 2007)
It is very important to be a fair and considerate judge within the Arts and Sciences. Entrants are voluntarily sharing their craft, knowledge, and experience with the rest of Meridies. Always include positive comments during the judging process. Be certain that your constructive criticism is just that, constructive. Constructive criticism is intended to help the artisan grow and learn as an artist. Judging is not an appropriate arena to showcase your own personal knowledge. The main stage belongs to the entrants and the judge is the person who helps guide them to the next level.
Guidelines to Judge Entries: Guidlelines established in 2001. These may be undergoing some revision; however, these guidelines provide valuable information about the judging process.
Meridian Arts and Science Categories: It is also important that a judge is familiar with the categories and the guidelines established within those categories. This helps to ensure that everyone is operating within the same parameters.
Please visit the page devoted to Kingdom Arts and Science Faire for more detailed information. There is important information for entrants, both veterans and first-timers.
All the forms that are used for judging during the Kingdom Arts and Science Faire are posted here. Please take a look at them and let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
This year each entry will be accompanied by a cover sheet and a juried form. The purpose of the cover sheet is to provide quick access to key information about an entry. The purpose of the juried form is for the judges to provide feedback to the entrants. Various categories now have different forms tailored to the unique requirements of specific areas.
The forms are provided in two different formats.
