Local Faires and Competitions

For information about upcoming local faires, please see the Popular Chivalry for information about upcoming events. Because local faires are independent, they may be following their own rules. Sometimes a local faire will follow a theme but they will usually accept entries that do not meet that theme. Your best bet is to check the flyer. If the information you need is not there, please feel free to contact the autocrat because he or she can answer your questions. Local faires are a great place to begin entering.

Regional Faires and Competitions

Regional faires are held at various locations and times throughout the kingdom of Meridies. While regional faires may vary from year to year, the traditional annual ones are listed here. Magna Faire and Midwinter Arts and Sciences are normally annual events. Regional A&S Faires are also encouraged at Crown Tournies.

The regional faires being held at Crown Tournaments are not traditional faires but instead an opportunity to obtain commentary on a person-to-person basis. Neither judging forms nor scores will be involved. You simply come to the tournament and interact with people who are visiting the display. It is a different method of providing feedback that removes all competitive issues involved in a juried format and allows for much more personal contact.

Annual or Semi-Annual Regional Faires

Midwinter Arts and Sciences, February . This is the traditional winter event hosted by the Barony of South Downs. The faire normally follows Meridian guidelines; however, the format sometimes changes. Please contact the Barony for more information.

Magna Faire: The Magna Faire is a very different style and the entrants judge each other. For more inforamtion on the Magna Faire itself, please follow the Magna Faire Rules and Guidelines Link. Please be advised that this link will take you from the official Meridian Arts Page to Iron Mountain's Official Web Page.

Kingdom Arts and Science Faire

Kingdom Arts and Science Faire is where artisans bring forth only their best entries. It is held annually on the first weekend of June at various locations throughout Meridies. Entering a KASF is a good opportunity for artisans to receive valuable feedback about their craft. Attending KASF is an excellent chance for artisans meet others who practice the same craft and to share ideas. Please visit the page devoted to Kingdom Arts and Science Faire for more detailed information.

Inter-Kingdom Faires and Competitions
